Timothy is a
Database Administrator
on a Business Intelligence Team at
Symantec (www.symantec.com,
SYMC). Timothy’s particular interests are IT operations, IT service
management (ITSM), ITIL, information security, project management, and
database/application tier high availability solutions. Timothy is a
Certified Technical Trainer (CTT), a Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT), PMP,
a
CISA,
a CISM, a CISSP, and ITIL V3 Foundations certified. Timothy also holds MCTS,
MCITP certifications on
Windows Server 2008,
SQL Server
2005/2008, and Exchange 2010.
Timothy is also a part time trainer, and recently provided Exchange 2010 and
Visual Studio 2010 Team Foundation Server training to Symantec employees.
Timothy is a frequent speak at local/regional technology user groups in
Florida (.Net User Code Camp and SQL Server users groups/SQL Saturday
events).
Prior to his work at Symantec, Timothy was a systems engineer and database
administrator at, a high volume e-commerce company, where he designed and
implemented a data tier security model, patch management, and enterprise
change management / release management in preparation for PCI DSS and SOX
pre-compliance audits. Timothy was also directly responsible for designing
and implementing data tier high availability, disaster recovery and business
continuity.
Timothy worked for ASM Research, a U.S. Department of Defense contractor. At
ASM Research, Timothy was the Information Assurance Manager (IAM) for a U.S.
Army personnel heath care reporting system. Timothy was directly responsible
for responsible patch management, system certification and accreditation
(DITSCAP/DIACAP), incident response and reporting, and end-user security
awareness training. Timothy
also designed and implemented highly available data and application tiers,
business continuity, and change/configuration management. Timothy also
designed and implemented a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer track, and
also ran several “Train-the-Trainer workshops to enable peers to obtain the
MCT certification.
